Denver Attractions
Denver has a lot to offer. Below are a few location ideas within a short walk from the hotel. Please check with the concierge on the lobby level for directions, tour schedules, reservations, and additional suggestions.

State Capitol—Home of the Colorado Legislature, our capitol building is one of the key features in the memorable Denver skyline.  The capitol building was built in the 1890’s and in 1908 they used 24 karat gold to plate the dome.  The gold plated dome commemorates Colorado’s Gold Rush days, and the early pioneers and miners who helped build our great state.  The dome towers 180 feet above, and contains stained glass dedicated to the 16 initial founders of the city of Denver.  A round brass cap embedded in the west entrance stairway reads: Elevation 5280 Feet, One Mile High, 5-12-69.

Denver Mint—In 1858, gold was discovered in Colorado and a year later the city of Denver was founded.  In 1863, the US government established a mint facility in Denver.  Today, the US Mint at Denver manufacturers all denominations of circulating coins, coin dies, the Denver “D” portion of the annual uncirculated coin sets and commemorative coins authorized by the US Congress.  It also stores gold and silver bullion.  Denver treasures its historic mint building, which is one of Colorado’s oldest institutions.

16th Street Mall—Located just two blocks from the hotel, the 16th Street Mall is a pedestrian and transit mall in Denver, Colorado. The mall, 1.25 miles long, runs along 16th Street in downtown Denver, from Wewatta Street to the intersection of 16th Avenue and Broadway. The 16th Street Mall is home to Shopping, Restaurants, Cafes, and Bars.

Denver Botanic Gardens—A 23-acre urban oasis which is one of the top-ranked botanical gardens in the US and features magnificent plants from all corners of the world.  Denver Botanic Gardens offers spectacular plant displays, unlimited opportunities for lifelong learning and research that helps preserve Colorado’s precious natural resources.  Denver Botanic Gardens has also opened the city’s first publicly accessible green roof, which is the first of its kind on a city-owned building in Denver.

Larimer Square—Larimer Square is located on Larimer Street from 14th to 15th Streets and includes 40 upscale restaurants and shops.

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park—Located in the heart of Denver for over 125 years, Elitch Gardens is America’s only Downtown Theme and Water Park.
