Birth Defects Research Journal

The official journal of the Society for Birth Defects Research and Prevention

The journal Birth Defects Research publishes original research and reviews in areas related to the etiology of adverse developmental and reproductive outcomes. In particular, the journal is devoted to the publication of original scientific research that contributes to the understanding of reproductive and developmental biology and the factors and mechanisms leading to adverse reproductive outcomes including structural and functional birth defects, pregnancy loss, and infertility in the human population, and to the identification of prenatal factors and biological mechanisms that may reduce the risks of these adverse outcomes. The journal includes periodic Virtual Issues on a variety of topics suggested by the Publications Committee, members of the Society, and our readers.
